The South Atlantic Region of the American Institute Architects (AIA) launched its inaugural Roger Milliken Honorary AIA Legacy Award posthumously to the man for which it was named and Milliken’s former CEO, Roger Milliken. The South Atlantic Region (SAR) chapter of AIA plans to honor an impactful leader within its client community once every three years at its conference to those who believe that good design matters.
“The award recognizes those who have held the architecture and design community to a higher standard,” says Jim Rains, FAIA, a regional director of SAR AIA. “Honored recipients are individuals who have displayed passion and dedication to improving our world through the use of design, and who believe, as Mr. Milliken did, in the power of innovation, inspiration, and creativity.”
