Best of NeoCon® People’s Choice Award
Following more than two weeks of online voting, the second consecutive Best of NeoCon® People’s Choice Award results are in. The online competition, which is the result of a partnership between Contract magazine and Designer Pages, is the digital extension of the annual Best of NeoCon® Awards competition, which is held by Contract at NeoCon® to recognize excellence and innovation in product design.
The program, which launched with the 2010 Best of NeoCon® Awards, invited neocon.com and contractdesign.com visitors to vote from June 1 through June 17 for their favorite Best of NeoCon® product entries in a select number of categories—Architectural Products; Case Goods; Seating: Ergonomic Desk/Task; Seating: Sofas and Lounge; and Tables: Occasional. One Gold Award and one Silver Award are bestowed in each category, along with a third and fourth place winner. Approximately 80,000 votes were cast.

The Best of NeoCon® People’s Choice voting tool, powered by productwars.com, functions as an interactive product war format, poising two same-category products against each other to allow designers to choose which of the pair ranks as their favorite. Both NeoCon® attendees and non-attendee designers were able to vote, as well as the general online public. The products are ranked by number of product wars won, not by number of votes.
