New York City-based hospitality design firm Therese Virserius
Design (TVD) has been appointed to create a luxurious outdoor
living space for the Hyatt Regency Jersey City. Totaling
approximately 4,558 sq. ft. of exterior space and 1,575 sq. ft. of
interior space, this project marks the third redesign TVD has
undertaken on behalf of Hyatt.
"I am excited to be working with the Hyatt Corporation again to
assist in its continued commitment to offering only the highest of
standards for its hospitality spaces," explains Therese Virserius,
founder. "Our design philosophy is the perfect match to the
client's fresh ideology and approach to interior and exterior
design."
Used for special events, Therese Virserius Design will dramatically
transform the space into a flexible outdoor living area by using
stylishly functional lounge furniture, fire pits, lanterns,
stonework, and lush plantings. The redesign of the exterior lounge
will evoke a feel of a "get-away Miami retreat" while still being
surrounded by the breathtaking Manhattan skyline.
Located along the waterfront in Jersey City's Newport neighborhood,
the Hyatt Regency is in the heart of the entertainment and shopping
district and offers uninterrupted views of the Manhattan
skyline.
Construction has already begun on the terrace with completion
expected in December 2009.
