Contract, Designer Pages Launch Best of NeoCon® People’s Choice Award

04 June, 2010

Best of NeoCon® judging is making its way into the hands of the A&D industry via the digital realm. Thanks to a recent partnership between tech start-up company Designer Pages and Contract magazine to better integrate the annual event’s physical and digital experiences (read more in Contract's upcoming June issue), the two today (Jun 4) launched Product Wars, the industry’s first online voting feature of its kind that allows NeoCon® attendees and online A&D users to cast their own votes for the products deserving Best of NeoCon® recognition.

The tool functions much like other “this or that” voting applications found online and on social media sites like Facebook (e.g. “Hot or Not,” “Rate Your Friends,” etc). Users are presented continuously with two random Best of NeoCon® entrants from a specific category and are asked to pick which, in their own opinion, is the “best.” Users may vote in five categories: Carpet/Modular Tiles; Conference Room Furniture; Furniture Systems; Seating/Conference; and Seating/Sofas & Lounge.

Products gaining the most votes will be displayed in real-time on the page as a public counter, and users may vote as many times as they’d like.

Contract will select the highest scoring products to receive recognition as this year’s People’s Choice winners and will be featured in Contract magazine’s upcoming editorial coverage.

Product Wars is especially engaging, according to Jacob Slevin, co-founder and CEO of Designer Pages. “I've just lost 20 minutes of my day playing with the Best of NeoCon / People's Choice. I figured I'd share the news and hopefully distract all of you away from your work too!” he writes in an e-mail last night that announced the successful launch to the Contract team.
