AIA Names 2014 COTE Top 10 Green Projects

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and its Committee on the Environment (COTE) have selected winners of the 2014 COTE Top Ten Awards. The program recognizes the best examples of sustainable design excellence achieved through the successful integration of architecture, technology, and natural systems.

From adaptive reuse projects to energy-saving retrofits, the selected buildings reduce energy and water use, employ green construction materials, improve indoor air quality, and positively contribute to their communities.

Recipients include:

AIA and COTE also have selected the Iowa Utilities Board/Office of the Consumer Advocate Office Building, designed by BNIM, as the Top Ten Plus recipient. The honor recognizes a past Top Ten Project Award winner that has demonstrated the impact of sustainable design through quantifiable metrics. The Iowa Utilities Board earned a Top Ten Award in 2012.
