BBG-BBGM, an architecture and design firm specializing in luxury hotels and resorts, has joined HOK. BBG-BBGM’s New York and Shanghai employees will operate out of HOK’s offices in those cities. The Washington, D.C., office of BBG-BBGM will continue as BBGM.

“We're excited about the prospect of continuing to create excellent hospitality experiences for clients all over the world,” Julia Monk, AIA, IIDA, LEED AP, a managing partner of BBG-BBGM, said in a statement. “The global hospitality market is growing quickly. Joining HOK expands our global reach to meet the market's demand. The timing is perfect.”

Monk will lead HOK’s hospitality interior design practice in Shanghai. Christina Hart, ASID, IIDA, LEED AP, and Randa Tukan, IDC, LEED AP, will head up the group in New York and Toronto, respectively. Additional BBG-BBGM partners joining HOK include Gregory Cranford, AIA; Marc Gross, AIA, LEED AP; Marie-Paule Petitjean, AIA, LEED AP; and Louis R. Hedgecock, AIA, LEED AP. All will be based in New York.

BBG-BBGM’s portfolio includes the Peninsula Shanghai, the Rosewood Abu Dhabi Hotel and Residences, and the Smyth Hotel in New York. HOK has designed the Four Seasons Shanghai, Hyatt on the Bund, and the Marriott Chicago River North Hotel.
