The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute has named the 10 finalists of its Cradle to Cradle Product Innovation Challenge. The competition aims to inspire manufacturers to re-create the way products are designed, built, and consumed toward a goal of healthy, sustainable, affordable buildings.
A jury comprising Cradle to Cradle certification experts, toxicologists from ToxServices, and building professionals from Make It Right selected the finalists from 144 applicants. Three winners will share the $250,000 cash prize, with first place awarded $125,000, second receiving $75,000, and third winning $50,000. The winners will be announced on November 15 at the institute's Innovation Celebration gala in New York.
The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute was co-founded by William McDonough, the 1999 winner of Contract's Designer of the Year Award. Click here to see the finalist projects.
