Danish furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen has appointed Henrik Hjorth as vice president, North America. Hjorth served a recent term as director of architecture and design at the Danish consulate in New York. Previously, he was president of Vipp, Inc. and managing director and founding partner at Nordkys Institute.
“I grew up in Denmark surrounded by Fritz Hansen furniture and have always appreciated the beauty, craftsmanship and timeless durability of the designs,” Hjorth said in a statement. ”I believe Fritz Hansen will become even more relevant to the North American markets in the coming years, and it gives me great pleasure to further develop the brand with our team and our partners.”
Hjorth will be based at the company’s headquarters in New York. He succeeds David Rosenkvist, who is returning with his family to Denmark.
