Hospitality Design Boutique Exposition & Conference (HD Boutique) returns to the Miami Beach Convention Center, September 12 to 14, with a burst of fresh design inspiration and a keynote featuring celebrated designer Tony Chi.
Sister show to Hospitality Design Exposition and Conference (HD Expo), also presented by Hospitality Design magazine and produced by Nielsen Expositions’s Hospitality Design Group, HD Boutique offers similar in-depth sessions and discussions on the new and upcoming market trends that all key hospitality decision-makers and designers should know about. But the show’s intimate scale fosters more networking and opportunity to discover the newest products from both large manufacturers and artisan studios.
“HD Boutique is more than a trade show. It’s an experience where people come to connect and collaborate,” says Liz Sommerville, show director for Hospitality Design Group. “It serves as a more personalized platform for new products and ideas.”
Learning from the best
Since launching in 2003, HD Boutique has become a highly anticipated annual event that draws approximately 450 manufacturers and 4,500 attendees, taking advantage of programs that showcase a diverse group of hospitality design leaders and stars.
Tony Chi, the designer of the Park Hyatt Shanghai and the upcoming Andaz Fifth Avenue, will take the stage with Hospitality Design Editor in Chief Michael Adams for the keynote conversation on September 13. Chi will talk about his life, work process, and how hospitality design goes beyond aesthetics and is about creating memorable experiences.
In another session on September 13, eight global change agents and creative professionals that have been named Hospitality Design magazine’s 2011 Wave of the Future will discuss the hospitality market sector’s global outlook and trends. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Wave of the Future awards program honors rising design talent—young enough to be thought visionary, but tested enough to be recognized for achievements—selected by editors of Hospitality Design magazine.
This year’s Wave of the Future recipients include: Dorothée Boissier, founder of Gilles & Boissier; Caren Crangle, associate of Simeone Deary Design Group; Giana DiLeonardo and Lisa DiLeonardo, partners at DiLeonardo International; Andre Fu, founder of AFSO; Aliya Khan, director of renovations for W Hotels, Le Meridien, and St. Regis, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide; Sam Nazarian, founder, chairman, and CEO of SBE; and Gray Shealy, global design director for W Hotels, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.
Other highlights include poolside “Party by the Palms,” site visits to the Dream South Beach and Shelbourne, and the Boutique & Lifestyle Hospitality Awards luncheon. Visit www.hdboutique.com for more information and to register.
