Sydney architecture firm Johnson Pilton Walker (JPW) has been selected to design a pair of linked commercial towers in Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia, a suburb of Sydney. The 53-story office buildings are part of Parramatta Square, a multiphase development comprising additional commercial, government, and residential facilities.
JPW’s competition-winning design proposes “floating” spaces in the sky, including a cantilevering double-height sky terrace on the 25th floor and a double-height sky lobby with public spaces on the 27th floor. The plan also includes a retail podium and an accessible link between the city’s transport interchange and Parramatta Square.
Other practices commissioned for the development’s various stages include Architectus, Grimshaw Architects, and Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp.
