Stylex’s Merchandise Mart showroom in Chicago has unveiled its redesign by Perkins+Will’s Chicago office. The space showcases the manufacturer’s products—including Share, its new work-lounge system—in thematic environments. "We wanted to focus on Share and its modularity and to contextualize it in a modern office environment," Tim Wolfe, Perkins+Will’s design director on the project, said in a statement. "I think there’s a great clarity to the design."
A dynamic wall graphic brings context to the showroom, which is divided into three areas: a focused workspace, a collaborative space for meetings and discussion, and a social space. Configurations of Share include a collaborative lounge setting; a space featuring the system’s task-height option, paired with privacy screens; and a dining zone integrating task-height units arranged as banquettes.
Other highlights include a coffee bar, a subtle etching of the Stylex logo on the front window, and a large sculpture using cast aluminum block letters.
