yoo Studio has revitalized J Plus Hotel by yoo in Hong Kong. Playing off of Philippe Starck’s original design, the design team Incorporated bold patterns and bright color schemes while opening up the interiors to the outside.
Adorned with a large Renaissance-style portrait, the new façade reveals the street-level lobby through yellow-tinted glass doors. Inside, tinted glass panels in yellow, orange, and red are inscribed with a Chinese coin, a Chinese Dragon, and Chinese bamboo — the colors and symbols both denoting luck in Hong Kong.
The vibrant colors continue to the 56 guestrooms and suites. Crisp white furnishings and linens balance features such as vivid graffiti rugs and a bold pattern running throughout the bathroom.
