Window treatment ideas for commercial projects

Window treatment styles

Window treatments are an important element of every interior design project because they control the flow of light into a space. There are a variety of window treatments for architects and designers to choose from when selecting products for a space, and they often depend on the building and window type. Many projects such as hotel and other hospitality projects find that curtains and drapery are the best window treatments for the job. Other settings such as offices, education, and healthcare may require shades or blinds. These shades can be manual or automatic, controlled with a remote.

Window treatments can be light-blocking or sheer, depending on the style. Some top window treatment manufactures are also offering acoustic window treatments that contribute to noise reduction in a space. Some of the top window treatment companies and manufacturers include MechoSystems, Hunter Douglas Contract, Levolor, KnollTextiles, Lutron, Carnegie, Maharam, Graber, and SWF Contract. Window treatments are one of the categories of the Best of NeoCon competition, sponsored by Contract magazine, which evaluates the top products by category. For more great products from Contract magazine, subscribe to twice-monthly product alert newsletters, that complement the great selection of products in the print magazine and online library. Professional architects and interior designers trust Contract magazine to keep them updated on the latest design trends and innovations in window treatments.
