2016 NeoCon Keynote Speakers Announced
NeoCon has announced the lineup of keynote speakers for the 2016 fair, which will be held June 13–15 at The Mart in Chicago. The 2016 keynote presenters are: Founder and President of Rockwell Group David Rockwell, FAIA, Founder/CEO of Delos and the International WELL Building Institute Paul Scialla, and Oana Stanescu of Partner of Family.
With a central theme of “Design That Works,” the 48th edition of the annual trade event will address the power of good design. Mirroring the comprehensive range of works found at the fair, this year’s speakers represent a diverse selection of design disciplines.

Paul Scialla established the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), which administers the WELL Building Standard to improve human health and wellbeing through the built environment. As a distinguished sustainability leader, Scialla shares innovations and evidence-based research about the impact of building design on health and wellness, and has served as a keynote speaker at green building, real estate, and technology forums internationally.

David Rockwell’s New York-based interdisciplinary architecture and design firm Rockwell Group specializes in hospitality, cultural institutions, offices, transportation, residential, set design, products, exhibitions, and festivals. The firm’s notable projects include W Hotels worldwide, 15 Hudson Yards and Culture Shed in collaboration with Diller Scofidio + Renfro, as well as The New York Edition, which was Contract‘s 2016 Interiors Awards winner in the Hotel category.

Oana Stanescu is responsible for leading Partner of Family’s European projects. Stanescu’s has worked at Herzog and De Meuron, OMA, and SANAA, and has also contributed to architectural publications such as Domus, MARK, and Abitare. She recently worked alongside Kanye West on both tour sets and personal residential projects and her current work includes the Kickstarter-supported +Pool project, which involves installing a cross-shaped floating swimming pool in the East River in New York.
