Patricia Rotondo, IIDA, has been named the International Interior Design Association’s (IIDA) 2018 Member of the Year. Recognizing an IIDA member’s dedication to the industry through volunteer work and preservation of the organization’s mission, the award also includes a complimentary 2019 IIDA membership and $7,500 sponsored by Contract magazine.

An IIDA member for more than 15 years, Rotondo serves as senior principal and director of interior design for Antunovich Associates. Rotondo’s tenure as a member has included mentorship through its student program, roles on several design juries and IIDA roundtables, and an appointment to the President’s Council in 2015. She has also dedicated much of her career to expanding opportunities for Latin Americans in the design community, and she is currently working to establish a new IIDA Chapter in Bogotá, Colombia.

“With boundless enthusiasm, Patricia is dedicated to creating a truly global design community that allows everyone to reach the highest levels of design excellence,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “She has spearheaded remarkable efforts as an advocate who mentors young designers from Chicago and throughout North and South America.”

Rotondo will be officially honored during the IIDA Annual Meeting in Chicago this June.
