Teknion: Zones

June 22, 2016

Open offices are here to stay, but one-size-fits-all furniture solutions are a thing of the past. For work that falls somewhere between a focused solo session and a casual meeting, Teknion has created Zones, a workplace furniture collection targeted specifically for brainstorming and intense concentration. Designed in partnership with London-based PearsonLloyd, the line offers seating, tables, screens, and easels.

Seating options include a club chair, an armchair, a lounge chair, a stool, and a bench. The club chair has two models: a fixed-height version with a four-prong base with swivel-return, and one with an adjustable height and five-star base with swivel-tilt. The lounge chair features a wrapped headrest, draped skirt, and slight angular recline to encourage out-of-the-box thinking, while the gently curved armchair mixes multiple materials, such as wood, plastic, metal, and upholstery. Made with a solid-beech frame and beech plywood back, the bench has a cushioned seat that can be upholstered in an array of Teknion fabrics. The counter-height stool is available with a wood or upholstered seat. Tables provide a play on the kitchen table archetype, with soft edges and turned wood legs.

Fully customizable, the furnishings in the Zones collection are offered in a neutral palette and incorporate a wide variety of materials, from wood, steel, and aluminum to upholstery, veneers, laminates, and acrylic solid surface.
