B-Line: Helix

June 10, 2016

The elongated back legs of the solid-beech Helix chair, designed by Favaretto & Partners, present continuously changing geometrical cross sections, lending a dynamic appearance suggestive of the early-20th-century airplane propellers that inspired the piece. The chair’s slim, multilayered wooden seat can be upholstered, while the curved backrest is either open or with a corset of elasticized cord (pictured here). Helix measures 29¼ inches in height, and the width is 19½ inches.
